Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 June 2026

Quantyle ("Quantyle", "we", "us" or "our") provides an online platform that helps students prepare for selective school and scholarship entrance tests across Australia. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

By creating an account or using Quantyle, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you are a parent or guardian creating an account for a child, you do so on their behalf and consent to this policy on their behalf.

1. Information we collect

  • Account details — your name, email address, a securely hashed password, the state/test you're preparing for, and (optionally) year level.
  • Parent/guardian email — only if you choose to receive weekly progress reports. This is optional and can be turned off at any time.
  • Practice and performance data — your test attempts, answers, scores, timing and progress, so we can mark your work, track improvement and show your history.
  • Writing submissions — the responses you write to writing prompts, which are assessed to give you feedback.
  • Subscription and billing information — your plan, purchase history and payment status. Card payments are processed by our payment provider (Stripe); we do not collect or store full card numbers.
  • Technical and usage data — basic information such as device/browser type and pages used, to keep the service secure and working well.

2. How we use your information

  • To create and manage your account and provide the practice tests, marking and explanations.
  • To generate and store your progress, results and writing feedback.
  • To process subscriptions and payments and send purchase confirmations or invoices.
  • To send weekly progress reports to a parent or guardian, only where this has been switched on.
  • To respond to your enquiries and provide support.
  • To maintain security, prevent misuse, and improve the quality of our questions and platform.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use student data for third-party advertising.

3. Weekly progress reports

Receiving reports is optional. If you opt in and provide a parent or guardian email, we may send a periodic summary of practice activity and progress to that address. You can opt out at any time from your account settings, after which we stop sending reports and remove the report email when you ask us to.

4. AI-assisted writing feedback

When you submit a writing task, its text is processed by an automated assessment tool to produce a score and feedback. This processing is used solely to give you that feedback and to record your result. We do not use your writing to identify you to third parties.

5. Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. When you pay, your card details are entered on Stripe's secure systems, not ours. We receive only confirmation of the payment and limited details (such as your plan and payment status). Stripe's handling of your information is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy.

6. Cookies and local storage

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the service. We also use your browser's local storage to remember practice preferences and which questions you've recently seen (so tests stay fresh and don't repeat). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear this data in your browser at any time.

7. How we share information

  • Service providers who help us run Quantyle — for example our payment processor (Stripe), hosting and database providers, and email delivery services — and only for those purposes.
  • A parent or guardian you have nominated, where progress reports are switched on.
  • Authorities if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users or Quantyle.

8. Children's and students' privacy

Quantyle is designed for school-aged students preparing for entrance tests, and many users are minors. We encourage accounts for children to be set up and supervised by a parent or guardian. We collect only the information needed to provide the service, and a parent or guardian may access, correct or request deletion of a child's information by contacting us.

9. Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access — including hashing passwords, restricting access to data, and using reputable infrastructure providers. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your information safe and to respond promptly if an issue arises.

10. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service and meet legal, accounting or reporting obligations. When information is no longer required, we delete or de-identify it. You may ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time.

11. Your rights and choices

  • Access and update your account details at any time.
  • Turn weekly reports on or off and change or remove the report email.
  • Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it.
  • Ask us to delete your account and personal information.

To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below.

12. Overseas handling of information

Some of our service providers (such as our payment processor and hosting providers) may store or process data on servers located outside Australia. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information continues to be handled in line with this policy and applicable privacy laws.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of Quantyle after an update means you accept the revised policy.

14. Contact us

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your information, or if you would like to make a privacy request or complaint, please contact us at support@quantyle.com.au. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
